Stefan Sevastru

Stefan is a consultant anaesthetist with a clinical interest in Perioperative medicine, Complex Abdominal Surgery and Major trauma. He is a member of the Trauma Anaesthesia Group (UK) and Trauma Anaesthesiology Society (USA). He works closely with the Trauma Service at the Royal London Hospital, a leading, internationally renowned teaching hospital based in east London. Stefan’s non-clinical areas of interest are patient safety, translational simulation and system engineering in healthcare. He has experience designing and running high fidelity translational simulations in conjunction with a modified Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) tool to identify latent risks and reduce harm in various healthcare environments. His work in safety improvement has received international appreciation on stages like the International Safety and Quality in Healthcare Conferences: ISQua 2018 Kuala-Lumpur and ISQua2019, Cape Town. He was part of one of the safety projects nominated by the prestigious Healthcare Service Journal in the Best Emerging Patient Safety Solution Category During the Patient Safety Awards in 2020. Stefan also collaborates with Trainetics, a company with mixed aviation and healthcare faculty, which delivers innovative, immersive Human Factors and Leadership training and consultancy.
